Post-Visit

apologies for the intermittent nature of the blog; unlike the UK, there are very few wi-fi spots in NYC. We hope that you enjoyed the posts we were able to upload and that the participants (who returned home thoroughly exhausted!) enjoyed the experience.

** COMMENTS MAY NOW BE POSTED ON OUR BLOG - APOLOGIES FOR THE GLITCH! **

New York update

Our first show was Of Mice and Men which starred James Franco and Chris O'Dowd. It was a fantastic show but we had to make our way back in some seasonal driving snow!
On Wednesday we had some culture at the Guggenheim [Art] Museum, followed by a leisurely lunch in Central Park.
The day concluded with panoramic views of the city from the top of the Rockefeller Centre.
On Thursday we had an enthralling tour of the city visiting many famous film locations including Friends and Home Alone.
The day concluded with Les Miserables which included a cast member who had led our workshop earlier in the day.
We are currently in session with stage combat instruction.

Day 2

Managed to get everybody up for an 0800 all you can eat breakfast, giving us all a good start to the day. We then took a leisurely stroll to Times Square, in the rain, where we held a one minute silence in memory of the 96 Hillsborough victims. This was followed by our first drama workshop, which was energetically received by all the students.

Location:DANY Studios, 38th St

At Heathrow!

Prior to departure. Flight good but long, with a little turbulence towards the end.
We were met at Newark and went on a tour of Manhattan stopping at Central Park to stretch our legs in the 25degree heat.
We checked into Hotel Wolcott and then headed of for a meal before heading off to bed at about 2100 local time, 25 hours after the beginning of our New York adventure.
